Explanation of Object Cloning Command with Use case

Object Cloning:

This Command allows you to create and play tasks that use technology specific applications.

This command enables you to:

-> "Radar-lock" an object and specify additional search criteria to uniquely identify objects.
-> Capture an object, its co-ordinates and images from desktop web-based applications.
-> Customize and modify in many manners.
-> Capture objects within windows that use technologies such as Flex, Sliverlight, Java and Html etc.

Object Cloning Command provides three modes of capturing objects from desktop and web-based applications.

These include:

-> Objects, Co-ordinates and Images.
-> Objects captures Objects.
-> Co-ordinates captures objects in fixed positions.
-> Images captures Static images.

Note:
If you enable 'secure Recording mode', then no values and images are captured.
The edge application should be open when automating using the browser.
If the automation is recorded Internet Explorer, it will not play in edge.


First Use case of Object Cloning Command

An IT support team needs to change the date format on multiple machines. Changing the data format involves multiple steps and performing these steps on multiple machines is time-consuming.

Solution

Using Object Cloning command, user can change date format.

Process Step Flow

->Open Control Panel in View by: Category-> Select Clock, Language, and Region

->Select Date and Time->Select Change date and time-> Select Change calendar settings-> Change Short Date format.


Benefits of using this command

Object Cloning command can be used for web and windows-based application.
User can capture objects in three modes: Object, Coordinates and Image.

Note:

Select object in the Object mode. If this mode is not working, only then try Coordinates or Image mode.
